Coast Guard medevacs St. Petersburg man from cruise ship
A man suffering a medical emergency was medevaced by the Coast Guard from a cruise ship in Tampa Bay, Florida, Saturday, Dec. 6. A crew member from the Vision of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg stating that a 59-year-old man was experiencing heart attack-like symptoms and was in need of emergency medical assistance. A Coast Guard flight surgeon was notified and recommended the man be medevaced. A 45-foot Respose Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg was launched, arrived on scene and medevaced the man. He was transported to the Station St. Petersb
