Fishers delayed departure for 30 hours
Protesting fishermen delayed the departure of the "Empress" for 30 hours. The blocked the port entrance of Itajai with 250 boats as a protest against fishing regulations of the government. The cruise ship had entered the port with 1877 passengers and a crew of 645 on board on Jan 5, 2015. Only in the afternoon of Jan 6 they released the ship after the fishery minister had promised talks. The cruise ship was now heading to Montevideo.
