In the past, passengers booked back to back on the same ship (also known as transits) were allowed to stay on board. However, this has changed at the insistence of the U.S. Border Patrol & Customs. We now have to produce a ?zero count? to United States Custom Border Patrol. A zero count is verification that the ship has been completely disembarked; this includes service staff and in-transit guests.
Guests who are in-transit are requested to come to the ship's Front Desk at 9:45am, to be personally escorted off the ship by a Front Desk Supervisor to see US Customs officials in the terminal. Guests will be required to have a Customs form filled out to present to the Customs official. Guests do not need to take any luggage with them when doing the zero count.
While everyone is off the ship, we have to make a screenshot print out of our gangway security guest count system which shows "0-zero" and this is signed off by the Chief Purser to provide to the USBP shore side. Once they have received this paper and staff and in-transit guests have cleared customs shore side they are allowed to come back on board. At that time we are also allowed to start our check-in procedures for our new guests.
If a guest in-transit wishes to go ashore before 9:45am, there is no problem in them doing so. They can just disembark prior to 9:45am, however, the guests must take a customs form with them prior to disembarking. The guests cannot re-embark until the zero count has been achieved.
Please feel free to inquire with the front desk if there are any special accommodations being made available to in-transit passengers.
Kind regards,
Dana

I bagagli resteranno in cabina, è possibile organizzare sistemazioni speciali, su richiesta.
